UK wholesale electricity is traded day-ahead on the N2EX exchange (Nordpool). Rates vary by grid supply region due to network constraints and local demand.

How to read this data

  • Current rate — the half-hourly settlement price for right now in each region
  • Day range — the spread between the cheapest and most expensive half-hour periods today
  • Day average — mean of all settled half-hourly periods since midnight
  • Regions — the UK grid is split into 14 GSP (Grid Supply Point) zones; prices differ by region due to transmission constraints

Rights and protections

🛡

Micro business protections

If you're a micro business, your supplier must give 30 days' notice before contract renewal and a 30-day exit window — many businesses don't know this applies to them.

💬

Small business support

Small businesses now have full access to the Energy Ombudsman and Citizens Advice energy support, extended to this category since December 2024.

Avoid expensive lapse rates

Out-of-contract rates are unregulated and can be 40–80% above negotiated rates. Telnergy monitors your renewal date so you never lapse without knowing.

Independent benchmark

Think you're overpaying?

Most businesses on lapsed contracts pay 18–33% more than they should. Telnergy benchmarks your rate against the full market — no forms, no pressure.
